The decision came after a batch of 12 writ petitions, which were filed after the accused irregularity and lack of infection in the transition process. The court’s decision is a significant setback for the recruitment campaign for Telangana State Public Service Commission (TGPSC) and 563 government posts.
Why was the merit list canceled?
The court’s decision was based on several major concerns raised by the petitioners. These included allegations that the scripts written in Telugu were answered by non-telugu-speaking testers, making Telugu-Medium candidates a very low pass percentage compared to their English-medium counterparts.
Additionally, the candidates raised issues with lack of transparency, including the use of a moderation method that was not clearly mentioned and lacking proper biometric verification. These irregularities eventually motivated the court to conclude that the evaluation process was flawed.
